Digital Culture Summary Instructions

At the beginning of class, we may start with a digital culture summary. For these summaries, your goals are:

To sharpen your summary skills. This exercise will give you many examples of what a summary should look like. One of your goals for 116 is to be able to write an accurate summary.

2. To develop your ability to identify and write a thesis

3. To develop your “reading for main ideas” skills

4. To develop your ability to identify with what you read. What do you think?

5. To recognize and identify the multiple perspectives in all arguments

For each digital culture summary, you are to do the following only:

1. Write down the question the digital culture summary is answering. Every argument starts with a question that has multiple possible answers.
2. Write down the answer that the summary provides for that question.
3. Write down other possible answers to the question (providing at least two different view points).
4. Write down your opinion of the question and answer in the summary. And why you agree or disagree.
